This is a fish I caught last week on a tenkara rod. While releasing, I saw the damaged lip and am gutted that I may have done it. Short fight, easy hook removal (barbless), brief netting—but that’s a serious wound. Anyone seen this happen or know how to avoid? It’s a C&R section of a busy river.
